The Boy Who Never Told A Lie
The Bottom Line
Homework Assignments
All homework is due when the morning bell rings at 9:00am and will be collected first thing in the morning.  Missing and late homework will need to be completed during recess and Specials.

Nightly Homework
Mad Minutes - Complete one side of the Mad Minute started in class.  Both sides can be done for extra practice
(this will increase success for Hall of Fame).
Click on the links below to print a Mad Minute page.
Mad Minutes - 60 Addition Facts C
Mad Minutes - 60 Addition Facts D
Mad Minutes - 60 Subtraction Facts A

Reading - Read at least 10 minutes (5 days a week) aloud.  You will receive a "Baggie Book" from school to be signed every night.  These books are to build fluency; therefore they need to be read until there is no need to sound out words (students are told to read them three times).  If the "Baggie Book" reading is completed in less than 10 minutes, complete the time with another book of your choice.

Weekly Homework
Spelling
- Spelling words will be sent home every Monday and should be studied nightly.
Hand in signed sheet every Friday.

Hello, my name is Jessica Hill and I teach first grade at Compass Public Charter School. I am overjoyed to be teaching at such a wonderful school!  I have been teaching at Compass since the opening in 2005, and love the environment along with the accelerated learning that takes place every day.  I earned my Masters in Teaching as well as Bachelors in Music and Theater from the College of Idaho.  I am married and have a new baby girl born this last May.  I am excited to once again get the opportunity to teach first grade, and to be involved with your student's learning!
